これは、もう僕の道楽なのですが、（仕事自体道楽ですが）
個人的に欲しい！って事でオーダーする事も多々ございまして本日ご紹介のお品も
正に御多分に洩れずって感じです。
This is more of a hobby of mine (although my job itself is a hobby),
I often order things because I personally want them, and the item I’m introducing today is no exception.
英国製JOHN SMEDLEY！
ハイゲージニットの王様と言っても過言じゃございませんね。
肌触りも最高で本当に着ていないかの様な着心地なのですが、保温力も有りまして秋口の夕刻や
早朝の波乗りなどにもついつい羽織ってしまうので僕的には年間を通じて結構な時間を共にしていますね。
休日に部屋で過ごす時なども、スウェットパンツにT-SHなどの上から羽織っております。
門外不出の最高級のメリノウールを他社では出来ない30ゲージで編み立てましてリンキングなどは
英国の熟練の職人さんの手仕事になります。
そう言う風に聞きますと、繊細なニットで大切に扱わなければいけないと思ってしまいますよね。
でも、意外と丈夫なんですね。
お洗濯も僕はネットに入れましてお洒落着洗いのコースで済ましております。
僕自身が、着込んで自然な風合いで着用するのが好きだからかもしれませんが。
でも、大枚叩いて購入した物こそ、ガンガン愛用しなければ勿体無い！と貧乏性なのかもしれませんね。

It’s no exaggeration to say that it’s the king of high-gauge knitwear.
It feels amazing against the skin, almost like you’re not even wearing anything, but it’s also very warm, so I find myself throwing it on for early autumn evenings
or early morning surfing, so I spend quite a bit of time with it year-round.
I also throw it on over sweatpants and a T-shirt when I’m staying indoors on the weekends.
It’s knitted at a 30-gauge using the finest, most exclusive merino wool, a technique that no other company can match, and the linking is done by hand by skilled British artisans.
When you hear that, you might think it’s a delicate knit that requires careful handling.
But it’s actually surprisingly durable.
I wash it in a laundry net on the delicate wash cycle.
Maybe it’s because I like to wear it with a natural, worn-in feel.
However, I think it would be a waste if I don’t use the things I’ve spent a lot of money on! I might be a bit stingy, especially

It’s been a favorite in our physical store for over a decade, and many customers come in to have moth-eaten items repaired.
When it comes to repairs, they fix it so that it’s impossible to tell where the hole was.
The aftercare for luxury items (nowadays) is truly amazing.

僕は大好きでポロシャツから夏場のBELDEN（半袖ニット）まで色々なスタイルで此のお色は持参しています。
此のお色を一枚纏うだけで洒落たムードも演出できるから何ですね。
This is Hepburn Smoke!
It’s lighter than black but darker than charcoal gray!
I love it and have it with a variety of styles, from polo shirts to summer BELDEN (short-sleeved knitwear).
Just wearing one piece of this color can create a stylish look, so I love it.
お袖口はシングルのリブになります。
此のお袖とリブの装着に関しても専門の職人さんが居てまして出来る限り肌へのストレスの無い様に
仕上げているそうです。
The cuffs are single-ribbed.
The sleeves and ribbing are attached by specialized artisans, who ensure that they are as gentle on the skin as possible.
これもJOHN SMEDLEYの専売特許かもしれませんね。
T-SHなどに直接羽織っても確かに嫌なごわつきなど一切感じさせませんね。

Even when worn directly over a T-shirt, it certainly doesn’t feel uncomfortable or stiff at all.
裾リブも同様な装着になります。
The hem rib is attached in the same way.
長時間着用する物なので、ストレスフリーは有り難いですよね。
Since it’s something you wear for long periods of time, it’s nice to be able to wear it stress-free.
此の身頃とお袖の装着なども専門の職人さんの手作業となります。
The body and sleeves are attached by hand by specialized craftsmen.
着用して違和感なども一切感じる事はございませんね。
You won’t feel any discomfort when wearing it.
着用しますと、こんな感じで至ってシンプルなスタイルになりますが、これが本当に意味でのデザインかも
しれませんね。
これ以上削り用の無いデザインですから。
建築なども同じだと友人の建築家がいつも言っておりましたので、
（シンプルなデザインほど難しいけど何年経っても古さを感じさせない）と。
計算され尽くした構造と素材選びなのかもしれませんね。
洋服も建築も同じなのかもしれませんね。
お値段が高いからよく似てるからと安価な物を着るより少しでも早く本物を愛用するのをお勧めしますね。
実はそれが一番近道ですし、人生は思ったほど長く無い様な気がするので。
僕も若い頃に後悔した事も多々有りましたので。
（やっぱり最初から買っておいたらよかった！）と。
結局買い直す事がありましたので。
When you wear it, it has a very simple style like this, but this may be the true meaning of design.
It’s a design that doesn’t need any further refinement.
An architect friend of mine always says that it’s the same with architecture,
(The simpler the design, the more difficult it is, but it never feels outdated, even after many years).
Perhaps it’s the carefully calculated structure and choice of materials.
Perhaps it’s the same with clothing and architecture.
Rather than wearing cheap things because they’re expensive or look similar, I recommend getting the real thing as soon as possible.
In fact, it’s the quickest way, and I feel like life isn’t as long as you think.
I had many regrets when I was younger, too.
(I should have bought it from the beginning!)
I ended up buying it again.

下手なマークの着きました高額品を買うより外見には何も誇張の無い一枚を着用されるのをお勧めします。
そして何年も着込んでいきますと自分の皮膚の様な感覚になってきますので。

インナーに着用しましたBARBAのBDシャツなども同じでお洗濯を繰り返していきますと
本当に素材自身が皮膚の様な感覚になって参りますね。
確かに手仕事のお袖付けや前振袖など縫製自身も素晴らしいからかもしれませんが。
ジーパンも同じで穿けば穿くほどに馴染んできますしね。
此のRESOLUTE GB 714などもここまで来ましたら本当に最高の穿き心地となりますね。
The same goes for the BARBA BD shirt I wore underneath. After repeated washing,
the material itself truly feels like skin.
This may be due to the excellent stitching, such as the hand-sewn sleeves and front kimono.
The same goes for jeans; the more you wear them, the more they break in.
These RESOLUTE GB 714s are truly the most comfortable to wear.
T-SHに直接羽織られるのもお勧めですね！
