本日はバラクータの中でも元祖のG-9をご紹介させて頂きます！
1937年に生まれましたGー９は、創業者のミラー兄弟がゴルフ好きでして雨の日にも快適にゴルフが
出来るウェアーとして誕生されたそうです。
Gはゴルフの頭文字で９は9ホールと言う意味合いだそうです。
You’ve probably heard of BARACUTA!
Today, we’d like to introduce the original Baracuta, the G-9!
The G-9 was born in 1937. The founders, the Miller brothers, were golf lovers, and it was created as clothing that would allow players to play golf comfortably even on rainy days.
The “G” stands for “golf,” and the “9” stands for “nine holes.”
こちらが其の全貌となります。
日本で云うスウィングトップの原型とも呼べるジャンパーですね。
米国の古着にも此の手合いのデザインは多くて色々なブランドが此のデザインで作っていたと思います。
それだけ完成されたデザインなのではないでしょうか。
100年近く経っても古臭さを感じさせないのは本物だからかと思います。
友人の設計士が、
（良いデザインは何年経過しても古さを感じさせない！）と言っておりましたので。
Here is the full picture.
This jumper could be called the prototype of what is called a swing top in Japan.
This type of design is common in American vintage clothing, and I think many different brands have made it using this design.
That’s how refined the design is.
I think the reason it doesn’t feel dated even after nearly 100 years is because it’s the real thing.
A friend of mine who is an architect once said
(A good design doesn’t feel dated no matter how many years pass!)
着用されますとこんな感じになります。
お襟が特徴でドッグイヤーと云う愛称で呼ばれておりますね。
（犬の耳が垂れた雰囲気に似ているからだそうです。）
This is what it looks like when worn.
The collar is distinctive, and it’s nicknamed “dog ears.”
(Apparently, it’s because it resembles a dog’s drooping ears.)
こんな感じでドッグイヤーのボタンを締めますと首元からの外気の侵入も防いでくれますね。
If you fasten the dog-ear buttons like this, it will also prevent outside air from entering through your neck.
お袖口と裾にはリブが配備されており外気をシャットアウトしてくれます。
The cuffs and hem are ribbed to keep out the outside air.
機能性重視のラグランスリーブになります。
It has raglan sleeves that emphasize functionality.
車の運転などにも適しましたWスライダージップの採用になります。
It features a double slider zipper, making it suitable for driving a car.
腰にはフラップ付きのポケットが両サイドに装備されております。
ゴルフボールが2個入る設定だそうです。
There are flap pockets on both sides of the waist.
Apparently, they can hold two golf balls.
こちらがバックスタイルになります。
背中には雨の侵入を防いでくれますアンブレラヨークが装備されております。
表生地もポリエステル58％コットン42％の混紡素材になりまして撥水機能もございます。
This is the back view.
The back is equipped with an umbrella yoke to prevent rain from entering.
The outer fabric is a 58% polyester and 42% cotton blend, and is also water-repellent.
裏地はフレイザー卿から使用を許可頂いておりますフレイザータータンを使用しております。
此の裏地でバラクータと一目で分かりますね。
こちらはクールマックス素材になります。
The lining is made from Fraser tartan, which we have permission to use from Lord Fraser.
You can tell it’s a Baracuta at a glance from this lining.
This is made from Coolmax material.
内ポケットも装備されており、海外旅行などでパスポートやカードケースなども安全に持ち運びして
頂けますね。
It also has an internal pocket, so you can safely carry your passport and card case when traveling abroad.
JOHN SMEDLEYの浅Vスウェーターなどにも良くお似合いになりますね。
