Our apprentice visited the factory that makes Boys Market’s custom shirts and went “treasure hunting” in the fabric warehouse—coming back with some deadstock cotton flannel, no less.

グレーにチャコールグレーそれからブラックにブルーの格子柄になります。

僕自身も此の手合いの格子柄には弱いのですが、お好きな方も多いのではないでしょうか！

It features a plaid pattern in gray, charcoal gray, black, and blue.

I have a soft spot for this kind of plaid myself, and I imagine there are plenty of others who do too!

製品完成後に水洗い加工も施されておりますのでご家庭の洗濯機で丸洗いも問題ございません。

Here is the full picture.

The product undergoes a water-wash treatment after completion, so it can be machine-washed at home without any issues.

着用しますと、第一ボタンを一つだけ開けると丁度良いお襟の開き加減の6ボタンとなります。

野暮な胸ポケットは排除しております。

When worn, unfastening just the top button creates a 6-button configuration with the perfect collar opening.

We have eliminated the unsightly chest pocket.

お襟の芯はスーパーソフトを採用しており、水洗いを施しますとフラシ芯の様になりますのでお襟もご覧の通り

We use a “super-soft” interlining for the collar; when washed, it takes on the characteristics of a floating interlining, resulting in the collar appearance you see here.

綺麗なロール感を実現してくれます。

それからドレス工場ならではのギミックがお襟の第一ボタンが職人さんの根巻き仕上げになっておりまして

ボタンが大変掛け易い配慮も為されております。

It achieves a beautiful roll.

Also, featuring a detail unique to a dress shirt factory, the top button is finished with a “shank wrap” by skilled artisans,

ensuring it is very easy to fasten.

カフスのボタンも同様に根巻き仕上げとなります。

至ってシンプルなBDシャツに見えますが色々な配慮が詰まった一枚なんです。

The cuff buttons are also finished with a wrapped shank.

It may look like a very simple button-down shirt, but it is a garment packed with thoughtful details.

必要不可欠な脇裾のガゼットも勿論配備しております。

此のガゼットが無ければ脇裾が断ち切りの状態になってしまうからです。

何故なら前身頃と後身頃の裾巻きを別々に行いまして最後に脇を縫い上げますので此のガゼットが必要不可欠

なんです。

最近では裾を一気に巻いて見せかけのガゼットを採用しているシャツも多い中、手間暇を惜しまず本当に長年

愛用出来るシャツを真面目に作っている工場さんなんです。

いつもミーティングの中で無理難題を持ち掛けているのですが、

（何とかやってみましょう！）と色々なチャレンジも快く引き受けてくれております。

こう云う工場さん有りきで僕達も胸を張って接客に臨めるのです。

やはり自分自身も服が好きなもので、自分が着たい！と思える一枚を心がけて企画しております。

Naturally, it features the essential side-hem gusset.

Without this gusset, the side hem would simply be left as a raw, cut edge.

It is indispensable because the hemming of the front and back panels is done separately before the side seams are finally sewn together.

While many shirts today use a “faux” gusset—created by simply folding the hem in one continuous motion—this factory spares no time or effort to earnestly craft shirts that can be truly cherished for years.

I often present them with seemingly impossible requests during our meetings,

yet they always willingly take on the challenge, saying, “Let’s give it a try!”

It is thanks to a factory like this that we can serve our customers with such confidence and pride.

As someone who loves clothing, I always aim to plan and create pieces that I would genuinely want to wear myself.

脇縫いも手間の掛かる折伏せ縫いを採用しております。これもドレス工場さんならではの縫製かと！

So, this features a genuine gusset.

For the side seams, we’ve used the labor-intensive felled seam technique—a detail that really reflects the craftsmanship of a factory specializing in dress shirts.

着用されますと、こんな感じでどこのアメトラシャツかな？と思わせぶりをしてくれます。

When worn, it creates an intriguing look that makes people wonder, “Which American traditional shirt is that?”

でもフランスのISLAND(今はイタリアの会社になっております）やHartfordなどにしましてもBDシャツは

此のセンターボックスプリーツを採用しておりますね。

フランス人やイタリア人からアメリカントラディッショナルへのオマージュなのでしょうね。

蘊蓄は工場さんにお任せしましてと、

僕達に一番大事なのは着熟しですよね！

That said, French brands like Island (now an Italian company) and Hartford also use this center box pleat for their button-down shirts.

It’s likely a homage to American Traditional style from the French and Italians.

But I’ll leave the technical details to the manufacturers—

After all, what matters most to us is how we style them!
