どちらも有りそうで無いお色目かと！

パタゴニアを取り扱っておりますが、僕自身対してサスティナブルな活動はしておらず

いつも通りに日々過ごしているのですが、パタゴニアの理念などはお客様に商品を販売するにあたり

伝えていく様にと心掛けております。

地球に優しいとかサスティナブルなど大袈裟な事は出来ておりませんが、使わない場所の電気を消して

回るとか食べ物は残さず腐らさずとか日没したら就寝、日の出と共にランか波乗りなどと。

これって昔の日本人などが当然の如く行っていた事なのかな？と幼い頃の生活を思い出しますね。

呉服屋を営む祖父の家で育てられましたので、祖父から日々色々な事を聞かされておりました。

茶道が趣味の祖父は、茶道具には煩く毎週の如く骨董屋さんが家に来まして祖父と商談しておりました。

朝は、出勤前にお寺に出向きそこでお茶を一服嗜んでから仕事場に出向いておりました。

僕の通う小学校の隣の寺でしたので、僕もよく連れて行かれました。

週一で自宅で、茶会を催しており、学校から戻ると茶席に呼ばれまして嫌々ながら僕もお茶を飲んでおりました。

そんな祖父は晩飯の後、筆を取りまして、

（いつまでも有ると思うな親と金）（風呂は九時まで）など毎日色々な文面を書いておりましたね。

幼い頃には理解も出来なくて

（うるさい祖父やな！）と思っておりましたが、僕自身も年齢を重ねますと、祖父が言ってた事が理解できるように

なってきました。

無駄な電気は使わず要らぬ出費は控えると言うことなのでしょうね。

結局のところそういう事が日々僕達が日々行えるサスティナブルな事なのではないでしょうか。

別に集まって抗議するでもなし、必要でない物は使わないとか無駄な殺生は行わないで大丈夫なのでは

ないでしょうか。

宗教染みてそういう活動に参加しなくても日々自分達で出来ることを行っていくので。

Although I deal with Patagonia, I don’t do any sustainable activities myself.

I spend my days as usual, but I try to convey Patagonia’s philosophy when selling products to customers.

I’m not doing anything extravagant like being kind to the earth or sustainable, but I do turn off the lights in places I’m not using, leave all my food and don’t let it spoil, go to bed when the sun goes down, and go for a run or surf at sunrise.

I wonder if this is something that Japanese people in the past did as a matter of course? It reminds me of my childhood.

I was raised in the house of my grandfather who ran a kimono shop, so I heard a lot of things from him every day.

My grandfather’s hobby was the tea ceremony, and he was very particular about tea utensils, so antique dealers would come to our house every week to negotiate with him.

In the morning, before going to work, I would go to the temple and have a cup of tea there before going to work.

The temple was next to the elementary school I went to, so I was often taken there.

Once a week, they held a tea ceremony at home, and when I came back from school, I was invited to the tea ceremony and reluctantly drank tea.

After dinner, my grandfather would pick up his brush and write various messages every day, such as (Don’t think that your parents and money will always be there) and (Baths are only until 9 o’clock).

When I was young, I didn’t understand it and thought (what a noisy grandfather!), but as I got older, I began to understand what he was saying.

I guess it means not using electricity unnecessarily and refraining from unnecessary expenses.

In the end, isn’t that what we can do every day to be sustainable?

It’s not like we gather together to protest, we don’t use things we don’t need, and we don’t kill animals unnecessarily.

It’s okay to do what we can do every day, even if we don’t participate in religious activities.

The Patagonia T-shirts that I’ll be posting today, and others like them, are a way for us to support certified organic cotton farmers by purchasing them.

此のT-SHに使用されているコットンは、コットンインコンバージョンと言われております通常の農家さんが

オーガニックコットンの認証を受けるまで3年の年月が掛かるので其の途中の段階の農家さんの綿花を使用する事で

農家さんの手助けを行えると言うことなんです。

3年間の間収入が無くなるので踏み切る事が出来ない農家さんの手助けを担うって言う事になります。

The cotton used in this T-shirt is called cotton inconversion. It takes three years for a regular farmer to get certified as organic cotton, so by using cotton from farmers who are in the middle of that process, we are able to help those farmers. We are helping farmers who are unable to take the plunge because they will lose their income for three years.

全貌は、ファッション的に見ましても魅力的な（僕の主観になりますが）マルチボーダーのT-SHになります。

Overall, it’s a multi-border T-shirt that is attractive from a fashion perspective (although this is just my opinion).

The colours are peppermint green, brown and beige, which is something you don’t see very often these days.

そして胸にはポケット付きとなります。

サングラスや老眼鏡それから愛煙家の方は煙草など収納して頂けますね。

There is also a pocket on the chest.

You can store sunglasses, reading glasses, and cigarettes if you are a smoker.

アメリカ臭いお色目ですよね。

(It’s a strange color that can also look yellowish depending on how you look at it.)

肩の裏側が丁寧なパイピング仕立てになっており着用時に一番力の掛かります肩線部分に嫌な肌触りも

有りませんね。

The back of the shoulders are carefully piped, so there is no unpleasant feeling on the shoulder line, which is the area that bears the most weight when worn.
