僕が初めてラコステを購入したのは忘れもしない中学1年の夏にVAN SHOPで
ショーケースの中に飾られておりましたネイビーのシネ素材のラコステでした！
あの時の感動は未だ覚えておりますよね。
家に戻りまして何に合わせたら？と。持っているパンツを片っ端から穿きまして
ポプリン素材のパンツそれからマドラスチェックのショーツなど選びまして
靴は？デザートブーツにはバミューダショーツそしてポプリンのパンツにはローファーなどと
丸一日ファッションショーをしていたのを思い出します。
その後、高校卒業と共に友人がLAに留学しまして、
（遊びに来いよ！）と言われまして悪友と初渡米！
夢の様なLAに感動！
ウエストウッドのNIKE SHOPからUCLAのCORPに初ビバリーヒルズ！
しかし一番の感動は、友人の家がVENICEビーチの真前の一棟貸しの家で地下駐車場からプールまで
駐車場にはトランザム！
朝からプールサイドで朝食そしてVENICEビーチに散歩！
そこで偶然入った古着屋さんにこれまた感動！
古着のスウェットパンツに白シャツをはだけてストレートのロングヘアーのお兄さん！素敵でした。
それからと言うもの、日々古着屋巡り！
ペインターパンツやらBDシャツそれからスウィングトップなど学生の僕の小遣いでも買えるので
嬉しくて嬉しくて。
ラコステのポロシャツも数枚購入したのを覚えております。
古着屋さんの店員さんがラコステのポロシャツにリンガーT-SHを着ていたのを見まして
（カッコイイ！）と感動しまして数枚購入してしまいました。
フランス製と其の当時はTZOD社のラコステがアメリカ市場では多くて
（何故、裾の形状が違うのだろう？）などと。
どちらもその後お気に入りで着用しておりましたね。
今となってはどちらも希少ですね。
ポロシャツ一枚のお話にかなり余談になりましたが、
I’ll never forget the first time I bought a pair of Lacoste shoes at a van shop in the summer of my first year of junior high school.
They were navy cine Lacoste shoes displayed in a display case!
I still remember how moved I was at that time.
When I got home, I wondered what to wear them with. I tried on every pair of pants I owned.
I chose poplin pants and madras check shorts.
What shoes did I wear? I paired desert boots with Bermuda shorts, and poplin pants with loafers.
I remember spending the whole day at a fashion show.
After that, after graduating from high school, a friend of mine went to study abroad in LA.
He said, “Come visit!” and we went to the US for the first time!
LA was like a dream!
From the Nike Shop in Westwood to UCLA Corp. and my first time in Beverly Hills!
But the most moving thing was that my friend’s house was a rental house right in front of Venice Beach, and from the underground parking lot to the pool,
there was a Trans Am in the parking lot!
I started the day with breakfast by the pool and then a stroll to Venice Beach!
I happened upon a second-hand clothing store there and was impressed!
A guy with long, straight hair wearing second-hand sweatpants and an unbuttoned white shirt! He was so handsome.
From then on, I visited second-hand clothing stores every day!
I was so happy to be able to buy things like painter pants, Blu-ray shirts, and swing tops with my student allowance.
I remember buying a few Lacoste polo shirts.
I saw a salesperson at the store wearing a Lacoste polo shirt with a ringer t-shirt.
I was so impressed (so cool!) that I ended up buying a few.
At the time, French-made and TZOD Lacoste shirts were more common in the American market,
and I wondered why the hem was so different.
I loved both of them and wore them ever since.
They’re both rare now.
I digressed quite a bit on the topic of a polo shirt, but

Why is this look French?
It was during the ’90s that the French trad boom began. Shops like Harris, Hemesphere, and
Marina des bourbon, among others, selected and coordinated traditional pieces from around the world with their own unique perspective.
