今日はPATAGONIAらしいお話を一つ！
皆様も良くご存知かと思いますPATAGONIAの銘品レトロXが、今年リニューアルしたのです！
ファンの方は既にご存知かと思いますが。
1993年に万を期して登場しまして今ではPATAGONIAの中でも人気品番となっているのです。
そんな人気商品を何故？リニューアルするのかと申しますと。
そこにPATAGONIAらしいお話があるのです。

As you’re all probably familiar with, Patagonia’s classic Retro-X has been redesigned this year!
Fans probably already know this, but…
It was released with great anticipation in 1993 and has now become one of Patagonia’s most popular items.
Why redesign such a popular product?
And there’s a story that’s typical of Patagonia.
レトロXは、6mmパイルのフカフカのフリース素材で表面は覆われておりますよね。
でもそれだけじゃ、寒い北風の侵入は防げませんよね！
そこでパタゴニアが考えたのは、
The Retro-X’s surface is covered in fluffy fleece with a 6mm pile.
But that alone isn’t enough to keep out the cold north wind!
So Patagonia came up with the idea:

僕的には、此のメンブレンが硬くて着心地の向上を妨げていたと思うのです。

タフタ素材を貼るリニューアルを行なったのです。
実は、以前使用しておりましたメンブレンはリサイクル素材からは作る事が不可能だったのです。
今回のタフタ素材はリサイクル素材になります。
Patagoniaらしいでしょう！
お子様などがいらっしゃる方は、此のタフタ素材！と思われる方も多いのでは。
そうなんです！実はキッズなどのレトロXは、以前から此のタフタ素材を使用していたのです。
やはり子供達にはメンブレンの硬さが不快に思うからでしょうね。

We’ve renewed the jacket by using taffeta material.
In fact, the membrane we used previously couldn’t be made from recycled materials.
The taffeta material used this time is recycled.
That’s typical Patagonia, isn’t it?

That’s right! In fact, our Retro-X kids’ jackets have been using this taffeta material for a while now.
