もう米国でもハンドソーンのモカシンを作れる工場は数少なくなっておりまして、
其の数少ない工場の中でも一際素晴らしいモカシンを作っておりますのが米国の靴の聖地とも
呼ばれておりますメイン州のRANCOURTなんです。
東海岸の最北端に位置するメイン州はLLBeanなどではご存知かと思いますが、直ぐにアウトドアー
が出来る場所になります。
僕自身も大好きな州で、30代の頃は毎月通っておりました。
今回は、当店の丁稚が、
There are only a few factories left in the United States that can make hand-sewn moccasins.
Among those few, one that makes exceptional moccasins is Rancourt, Maine, also known as the “Mecca of American Shoes.”
Located at the northernmost tip of the East Coast, Maine is a place where you can easily enjoy the outdoors, as you may know from places like L.L. Bean.
I personally love this state, and I used to visit it every month in my 30s.
This time, our apprentice,
RANCOURTに直接出向きまして別注を行って参りました！
We went directly to RANCOURT to place a special order!
工場はこんな感じになります。
The factory will look like this:
熟練の職人さんの手に依るハンドカッティングになります。
It is hand cut by skilled craftsmen.
これが有名なハンドソーンになります。
This is the famous hand sawn.
これが出来る職人さんもかなり少なくなってきてるそうです。
There are very few craftsmen who can do this.
ミッドソールとアッパーを縫い上げる工程になります。
This is the process of sewing the midsole and upper together.
靴のソールの磨きも三工程の磨きを掛けているそうです。
此のように全て職人さんの手仕事で作られております。

アッパーの皮革はイタリアンカーフをセレクトさせて頂きました。
We selected Italian calfskin for the upper leather.
そしてソールは皆様も良くご存知かと思いますVIBRAM社のクリスティーソール！
通称白ソールとよく呼ばれている奴です。
And the sole is the Christy sole from VIBRAM, which I’m sure you’re all familiar with!
こんな感じになります。
アッパーの皮革はスコッチグレインになりますので最初から足の履き入れは良いですね。
It looks like this.
The upper leather is Scotch grain, so it’s easy to break in right from the start.

This year, POLO COUNTRY was revived in the US, and they’re apparently very busy making POLO COUNTRY shoes.

皮革のミッドソールを一枚かましてクリスティーソールをアウトソールにしております。
かなりラギッドなフォルムとなりますが、
カーフの揉み革になりますので最初から足入れも良くて日々重宝して頂ける1足になると思いますね。
It has a leather midsole and a Christy sole as the outsole.
It has a fairly rugged form,
but because it’s made from rubbed calf leather, it’s comfortable to wear from the start and I think it will be a pair of shoes that you can use every day.
此のソールを貼りますとワークブーツ的なムードも漂わせれますので着熟しの幅も広がりまして
オールシーズン愛用して頂けると思いますね。
This sole gives the boots a work boot-like feel, expanding the range of styles available.
I think they’ll be great for all seasons.

通常のモカシンよりガッシリしましたフォルムに仕上げたかったので出来上がりにはかなり満足しております。
I wanted to create a more sturdy shape than regular moccasins, so I’m very happy with the finished product.
