アメリカ臭い一枚かと！
米国は合衆国になりますので、州ごとに法律も違うし税金なども違うので、一つの州が一国って感じと
思って頂いた方が分かりやすい国かと。
ですから西海岸と東海岸は全く違う雰囲気を醸し出しておりますね。
西海岸は、やはり人種の坩堝で色々な人種が入り混じって形成されており自由の空気を感じさせてくれると
思うのです。
でも東海岸は、白人の街と解釈された方が分かりやすいですね。
勿論、NYなどの中心には多国籍な人種が入り混じっておりますが、少し郊外に出ますと白人のみの街などが
多く点在されます。
簡単に言えばラルフローレンの提案するアメリカらしいですね。
本日ご紹介のOLD SOLDIERも東海岸のロングアイランドの小さな港町から生まれた東海岸の海をテーマに
しましたブランドになります。
父親が所有しておりましたボートの名前がOLD SOLDIERで息子二人が其のボートとボートハウスを譲り受けまして
其のボートハウスを拠点として色々なウェアーが作り出されております。
基本的に生産やプリントまでロングアイランドで行われております。
Since the U.S. is a union of states—each with its own distinct laws and tax systems—it is easiest to think of each state as being like an individual country.
Consequently, the West Coast and the East Coast exude completely different atmospheres.
The West Coast is a true melting pot where diverse races mingle, creating an environment that feels truly free.
In contrast, the East Coast is best understood as being dominated by white communities.
Of course, major hubs like New York City are racially diverse, but once you step into the suburbs, you find many towns populated almost exclusively by white residents.
Simply put, it embodies the quintessential American style championed by a brand like Ralph Lauren.
The brand we are introducing today, OLD SOLDIER, also hails from a small harbor town on Long Island and draws its inspiration from the waters of the East Coast.
The brand originated when two sons inherited a boat named “Old Soldier” and its accompanying boathouse from their father; they have since used that boathouse as their base for creating their clothing line.
Essentially, all aspects of production—including printing—are carried out right there on Long Island.
こちらのT-SH自身も全てデッドストックボディーを使用しておりまして現代の米国製には無い雰囲気満載の
T-SHになります。
僕の推測では70年代のボディーかと。
These T-shirts are made using “deadstock” blanks, giving them a distinctive vibe that you simply don’t find in modern US-made shirts.
I’m guessing the blanks date back to the 1970s.
こちらが其の全貌となります。
70年代のT-SHに自分達がデザインしましたプリントを施しておりますので古着で例えればヴィンテージと
なりますね。
さしずめデッドストックのT-SHと言えば話は早いかと。
Here is the full picture.
We have applied our own original designs to 1970s T-shirts; in the world of used clothing, this would classify them as “vintage.”
To put it simply, you could think of them as deadstock T-shirts.
真ん中にOS NYとプリントが為されておりますのが、兄弟が日頃乗りましておりますボートOS号の意味合いです。
即ち彼らの所有するヴィンテージボートのアンカーの細部の呼び名をプリントされた一枚になるのです。
洒落た事しますよね白人らしいデザインかと。
余談にはなりますが、白人の住む街などは鍵を掛けなくても大丈夫！と言っておりました。
それだけ安全が確保されていると言う意味です。
アメリカの場合、生命保険や自動車保険も住む街で掛け金などが全く違うのです。
即ち白人の街は掛け金も安価と言う訳なんです。
自由の国アメリカと投げかけておりますが、実は生まれた家で一生が決まるとさえ言われております。
特に東海岸は。
そして恐ろしい事に東海岸の白人は、
（西海岸はメキシコだ！）と。
英語も違うしと。
僕達が描いているアメリカとは実は全く違うのです。
余談が過ぎておりますので、面舵一杯と！
The “OS NY” print in the center refers to the “OS”—the boat my brothers use regularly.
In other words, the design features the specific technical names for parts of the anchor found on the vintage boat they own.
It’s a stylish touch—a design that feels quintessentially Western.
As a side note, they used to say that in neighborhoods where white people live, you don’t even need to lock your doors.
It speaks to the level of safety maintained there.
In the U.S., the cost of things like life insurance and auto insurance varies drastically depending on the neighborhood where you live.
Simply put, premiums are lower in white neighborhoods.
We often speak of America as the “Land of the Free,” but in reality, it is said that the home you are born into can determine your entire life’s path.
Especially on the East Coast.
And—frighteningly enough—white people on the East Coast tend to say…
“The West Coast? That’s basically Mexico!”
“They speak a different kind of English, too.”
The reality is completely different from the image of America we tend to picture.
But I’ve digressed too far—time to steer hard to starboard and get back on course!

I’ve been washing and sun-drying it every day during this intense heat, and it has developed a fantastic character.
If you purchase one, I highly recommend trying this out yourself.
Just don’t forget to flip it over every other day while sun-drying.
Otherwise, only the outer surface will age, so please be sure to flip it.
