銀の高騰で現行物のシルバージュエリーも昨年から比べますと、かなり在庫は少ない状態となっているのですが、
それにも増してアンティークのジュエリーは、店頭からも消えており信頼の於るディーラーから譲って頂くしか
伝手はない状態となっておりますニューメキシコも！
そんな状態の中でも色々なディーラーを訪ねまして今回も質の良いアンティークのジュエリーも数点バイイング
しております。
アンティークジュエリーの中でも大きく分けますと作者物とFred Harveyに分かれるのですが、
僕的にはFred Harvey物が好きなのでコレクションしているのもFred Harveyが主体になりますね。
かのラルフローレンもFred Harveyのコレクターで、ディーラーから聞いた話ですが、有名なディーラーが
亡くなると其のコレクション全てラルフローレンが買い上げているそうです。
1920年くらいから1940年迄のお品になりますので数量にも限りがあり、現在では殆どディーラーが所有しまして
其のディーラー間での取引となっているそうです。
ですからお値段も毎年値上がりを続けており、買った時が最安値と言われるのも頷けますよね。
Fred Harveyの場合、現在の925シルバーとは違いましてネィティブインディアンが銀貨を叩いたり溶かしたり
しまして作られておりますので銀の含有量は925などより少ないのですが、それが又鈍い光加減なども表現
されまして日本の侘び寂びに近い感覚かと思いますね。
細工も現行品みたいに精巧では無くて、それが又手作り感も演出され魅力のひとつになっております。
さて、そろそろ本日の逸品のご紹介です！
Due to the soaring price of silver, stock levels for contemporary silver jewelry are significantly lower than they were last year.
The situation is even more acute for antique jewelry; it has all but vanished from shop shelves, leaving us with no choice but to rely on connections with trusted dealers to acquire pieces—even in New Mexico!
Despite these challenges, I’ve visited various dealers and managed to purchase several high-quality antique pieces for this collection.
Broadly speaking, antique jewelry in this category falls into two groups: pieces by specific named artists and “Fred Harvey” style pieces.
Personally, I have a fondness for the Fred Harvey style, so my collection focuses primarily on those pieces.
Even Ralph Lauren is a collector of Fred Harvey jewelry; I’ve heard from dealers that whenever a renowned collector passes away, Lauren often purchases their entire collection.
Since these pieces date from roughly 1920 to 1940, the supply is limited; most are currently held by dealers and traded primarily among themselves.
Consequently, prices rise year after year, making it easy to understand the saying that the moment you buy a piece is the cheapest you’ll ever get it.
Unlike modern “925” sterling silver, Fred Harvey pieces were crafted by Native American artisans who hammered or melted down silver coins. While the silver content is lower than standard sterling, this results in a distinctive, subdued luster—an aesthetic that evokes a sense of wabi-sabi (finding beauty in imperfection and transience) familiar to Japanese sensibilities.
The craftsmanship isn’t as precise as that of modern mass-produced items, but that very quality enhances the handmade feel and adds to the jewelry’s unique charm.

年代は1930年代になります。おおよそ100年前の逸品です。
素材はインゴットシルバーになりますので銀の含有量は90％になりますが、それが今の925とは違い
渋みの有る趣きを表現してくれております。
